It is with great pleasure to inform the SzEEDSM community that Professor Fikret Čaušević has been elected as corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the highest academic distinction in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In August 2015, Professor Čaušević was an invited speaker to the MNB (Hungarian Central Bank) workshop at which our Doctoral Program curriculum plan was discussed and finalized. Since the beginning of our program Professor Čaušević has taught courses on Finance and the economic aspects of Globalization.

The most important academic contributions by Professor Čaušević have been his three books published by the most renowned international publishers: The Global Crisis of 2008 and Keynes’s General Theory (Springer, 2014); Globalization, Southeast Europe, and the world economy (Routledge, 2015), and A Study into Financial Globalization, Economic Growth, and (In)Equality (Springer: Palgrave Macmillan, 2017). In his review of The Global Crisis of 2008, Professor Katsuhito Iwai credits this book in the following way: “Chapter 2 of this book is one of the best expositions of Keynes’ General Theory I have ever read. Chapter 3 is one of the best accounts of the last crisis I have ever come across.”  Dr Peter Sanfey of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in his review of A Study into Financial Globalization, Economic Growth, and (In)Equality, writes: Some of the pattern and comparisons drawn by the author are fascinating and unexpected. Overall, Fikret has combined an impressive breadth of knowledge of the relevant literature with practical insights into policy implications.”
