At the Joint ICAEW (Institution of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) Foundation virtual conference on IFRS 16 Leases on Tuesday 10 October 2017 as a result of active participation and based on the conference’s assessment system Mr. Árpád Tóth, PhD student of the SzEEDSM program, was awarded Third Prize among 500+ global accounting participants. This innovative online event was arguably the first truly global and widely accessible IFRS conference. This conference brought together experts on the new leases Standard from around the world. They have provided a unique mix of authoritative technical content and insightful international and regional perspectives from the standard-setters, users, accounting practitioners and business.

The conference was opened by IASB Chairman, Hans Hoogervorst, and ICAEW CEO, Michael Izza, and included live Q&A sessions with the presenters, live panel discussions tailored to the three separate time zones (London, Dubai and Singapore).
