On the 10th of January the SzEEDSM Program Management conducted the Final Dissertation Defense of Gauri Shankar Gupta where Mr. Gupta successfully defended his dissertation. Mr. Gupta is a distinguished diplomat who formerly served as Ambassador of India to Hungary and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as High Commissioner of India to Trinidad and Tobago, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada and Montserrat, Head of Administration of the Ministry of External Affairs of India and as Ambassador of India to Mongolia. Mr. Gupta is also a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
In his research he focused on environmental degradation and climate change which have emerged as the most serious challenges to humanity in the recent decades posing existential threats. The Committee was pleased by the comprehensive holistic nature of the dissertation as well as the impeccable English.
