On the 8th of September the SzEEDSM Program Management conducted the Preliminary Dissertation Defense of László Szendrői. (Title of the PhD thesis: Gamification impacts on outputs of offline in class education considering player types and group size)

The purpose of the thesis is to reveal the current trends of the research area of gamification, and to contribute to the literature by executing an empirical examination. Gamification is a relatively new research area that refers to the implementation of game elements in non-game contexts. It can be utilized in many different areas such as education, business organisations, healthcare or environmental protection. This dissertation binds the context of pedagogy with gamified tools, which are observed more as managerial ones, but can lead to higher performance in non-gamified contexts as well.
